O Mary, you truly are my light, my sweetness, and my hope. You have lifted me up and given me hope in a world that is so broken. Your willingness to serve Almighty God, your obedience, and your love is what I strive to mirror in my own heart. God chose you to be the vessel of our Lord and Savior and when the Angel Gabriel appeared to you, you accepted without hesitation. You are there to draw me into a deep and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, for I know that the quickest way to our Lord is through you. Jesus, before His death said to His disciple, “Behold, your mother.” How beautiful those words are to us as believers in Christ. I know with certainty that through you, O Blessed Virgin Mary, I will draw closer to the Lord. Mary, I call upon you and ask that you help me to always honor and glorify God as you do.
I am so grateful that I finally have a true understanding and a personal desire to meet Jesus through Mary. For years, I never knew I could have a relationship with Mary, let alone grow closer to Jesus through her. As I continue to grow my relationship with the Blessed Mother, I find it easier to completely give myself to God and to truly hear the Holy Spirit in a new way. Mary is a true example for all women today. In a world that is so broken, think of the beautiful things that can happen by growing a deep devotion to Mary as she helps guide us towards her Son. St. John Vianney said, “Jesus Christ, after having given us all He could give, that is to say, the merit of His toils, His sufferings, and His bitter death; after having given us His adorable Body and Blood to be the Food of our souls, willed also to give us the most precious thing He had left, which was His holy Mother.”
